There are lots of ways t
o say, “stupid”. There are of course the classics;”Not the sharpest knife in the drawer,” “Not the brightest star in the sky”, “Lights are on, but nobody’s home”…fill-in the blanks with your own favorites. For some reason, I always remembered one of my daughter’s favorites; “She’s/He’s two tacos short of a combo platter”. Hence, a new little baby blog is borned. That’s my best Mississippi person impersonation.
Some of you might know me, or have followed me at my first blog and variations of that theme at Today in Heritage History. I have been publishing Today since July 18, 2011. I started on blogger. My goal was to write at least one post every day for a year so that at the end of the process, I would have 365 days of history covered. I have done that and more. And, since about mid-year last year, I started duplicate posting on Word Press. I love WP.com (and org). You all have been a family to me, and have even looked the other way when my ill-humor was real ill. So, thank you all for that. Some days I was able to find a couple of things that struck me as funny in history. That’s also despite how hard 2012 has been. I got my daughter (I’m a single dad) graduated from college this year, and I lost my mom to cancer in January. She was a good mom, and my daughter is a good kid. And despite just those couple of things. I was able make 427 posts on blogger, 272 on WP, and am flattered to say, have had over 121,000 page views from other ill-humored people all over the world. We MUST stick together. So..what the fuck, I hear you asking. Well. one of my many short-comings is easy boredom. Sooo, I’m bored and I’m really afraid of getting stale. It’s kind of like knowing when to fold a great television show (not that I’m a great television show) before it gets to the this is starting to suck-stage. I don’t want to get to sucks. Plus, I can run out of dates to write about, but I can never run out of stupid. There are a limited number of things that have happened on the 365 days every year since we started counting things as “historic”. There are however an unlimited and infinite number of stupid things we have done and we continue to do, that are fair fodder. I’m just going to write about 100 of them.
So…I hope you will continue to follow and jump the ship of history from Today, to the new ship of 2 tacos short. It’s the same ill-humor, it’s just wrapped in a different package. So…are you there? Are you out there? Are you ready for as new journey from historic stupid to life in general stupid? I hope so… I wouldn’t want to have you on the writing end rather than the reading end (joking…not).
Just reread this appeal for “followers”….I think that’s what it was…no matter.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think “stupid” described your literary content. I thought it was quite….smart. Very smart. Smart to the extreme.
Oh dear….what does that mean? Am I, too, confused over the definition between stupid and smart?
No.
Didn’t think so…………..
Sorry….I just like you soooooooo much. Like your stuff, I mean. Your writing.
